Benefit Experts
Who we are

Independent, by design.

Benefit Experts is an independent insurance brokerage licensed in Washington State. Independent means we are not employed by a carrier and we do not have a quota to fill for one. We quote across the Washington market and recommend what fits the group in front of us.

Our focus is small and mid-size employers — companies with two to a hundred and fifty employees. It is the segment large national firms tend to sign and then forget, and it is the segment where a benefits package makes the biggest difference to whether a company can hire and keep good people.

That focus shapes what we bring to the table. Level-funded plans and voluntary benefits are routinely skipped for groups this size, and they are often where the room to move is.

How we work

Four commitments we hold to.

Shop the market

Every review means real quotes from multiple carriers, including the level-funded and voluntary options that often go unmentioned.

Talk to employees

Benefits only work when people understand them. We present to your team and answer their questions directly, in person, by phone or online.

Take the paperwork

Enrollment, carrier forms, new hires, terminations, and the platform to run them. HR should not lose a week to benefits season.

Answer the phone

A claims problem in March gets the same attention as a quote in October. You get a licensed contact year-round.

How brokers get paid

Our service costs you nothing.

It is the first question worth asking any broker, so here is the answer up front.

Insurance brokers are compensated by the insurance carrier through commissions that are already built into the premium. Your rate is the same whether you enroll through a broker or go direct — the commission is paid either way. What a broker adds is the market comparison, the enrollment, the employee education, and someone to call when something goes wrong.

There is no consulting fee, no service charge, and no cost to have your current plan reviewed. If the review shows you are already in the right plan at the right price, we will tell you that.
