Benefit Experts

Who we serve / Landscaping & home services

Benefits that reach crews in the field.

Benefit Experts helps Washington employers turn workforce needs into a benefits plan. Early departures, overnight cleaning, changing job sites, and seasonal work call for a clear enrollment process and coverage employees can use near home.

Start with these three decisions.

Tell us your seasonal pattern, crew locations, shifts, and current enrollment process.

01

Changing hours

Track the hours and hiring facts needed for eligibility decisions.

02

Different job sites

Plan education at the yard, on site, or virtually.

03

Income protection

Review how disability and supplemental coverage fit alongside medical benefits.

Plan for seasonality without assuming an exemption

The ACA employer-size test looks at the prior year’s monthly counts, not just the busiest month. A limited seasonal-worker exception may apply under specific conditions. Payroll and an ACA specialist should review the facts before treating the business as exempt.

Make support fit the workday

Benefit Experts offers shift-friendly group meetings, one-on-one conversations, and live virtual sessions with the session scope confirmed before enrollment for client teams, including multiple visits, new hires, and support after enrollment. Discuss language and access needs when planning; confirm any interpretation arrangement separately.

Repeat the core explanation at two suitable times and provide a single enrollment checklist and contact path for everyone.

Coverage to compare

Availability, eligibility, and benefits depend on the proposed plan and its current terms.

Medical, dental, and vision
Check providers near employees’ homes and practical payroll deductions.
Disability and life
Review benefit limits, waiting periods, and exclusions for the actual work performed.
Voluntary coverage
Explain optional accident and hospital benefits as supplements, with separate premiums and benefit conditions.

From comparison to enrollment

We help connect the benefits decision with the people using and managing the plan.

  1. 01 / PLAN

    Map the needs

Tell us your seasonal pattern, crew locations, shifts, and current enrollment process.

  2. 02 / COMPARE

    Review the tradeoffs

Compare actual plan costs, access, contributions, and the questions payroll or specialist advisers need to resolve.

  3. 03 / SUPPORT

    Help the team enroll

We provide group, individual, and live virtual education, including shifts, multiple visits, new hires, and support after enrollment with the session scope confirmed before enrollment for client teams.

Before you get started

Can we assume a worker with changing hours is ineligible?

No. Review expected status at hire and the applicable plan and ACA rules. Variable-hour measurement is a specific method, not a blanket exclusion.

What administration is included?

Employee Navigator is available and customized at no extra cost for group clients who want it. Benefit Experts trains company administrators to enter new hires and terminations; Benefit Experts handles carrier changes. We coordinate third-party COBRA administrators that send and track notices. Vendor fees may apply, with waivers for some groups based on size and benefits package.
